Fresh
Fresh scent notes in fragrance refer to the use of light, citrusy, and airy fragrance ingredients that evoke feelings of cleanliness, vibrancy, and energy. These notes are often associated with citrus fruits like lemon and bergamot, as well as aquatic notes like sea spray, and green notes like herbs and leaves. Fresh fragrances are popular for their refreshing and uplifting qualities, often used in lighter concentrations like eau de toilette or cologne, and are frequently associated with summer and spring.
Here's a more detailed look at fresh notes:
Key Characteristics:
Fresh notes are generally lighter and less intense than other fragrance categories like floral or oriental. Citrus fruits like lemon, bergamot, orange, and grapefruit are common in fresh fragrances, providing a zesty and invigorating smell. Aquatic notes, reminiscent of sea spray or ocean breeze, can also be found in fresh fragrances. Fresh green notes, often derived from herbs and leafy plants, add a crisp and uplifting element.
Subcategories of Fresh Notes:
Aromatic: Characterized by fresh, herbal, and often slightly spicy scents.
Citrus: Dominated by the bright and zesty smells of citrus fruits.
Water: Evokes the refreshing feeling of aquatic environments.
Green: Reminiscent of lush greenery and fresh herbs.
